INFORMATION BEFORE REGISTERING
REGISTRATION INFO - Registration can be done online or you can come in and fill out the registration paperwork at the front office. Online registration will close on Friday, June 1st. Anyone wishing to register after that date, will need to register in person. If you have set up alternative payment arrangements with me, you must come in and register in person. Please remember that your child must hold a current membership to the Salem Boys & Girls Club in order to join our team. Membership renewal is also available online.
The cost of the season will be $250 per child, plus an agreement to collect at least $50 for our fundraising event. This amount includes the team suit, cap and entry fees for the GSSA Champs. $150 will be due at registration, $100 will be due on or before June 1, 2012. Sorry, no sibling discounts will be offered. It is our goal to make our program affordable to everyone. If you have difficulty paying on this fee schedule, please contact me and we can arrange other payment plans.
Please be advised that meets may be scheduled for weekdays as well as weekends. Not all meets will be on weekends this season.
IMPORTANT! FUNDRAISING AND VOLUNTEER COMMITMENT: As many of you are aware, it takes a great deal of manpower to run our meets. In an effort to ensure that everyone shares in the workload, parent jobs will be assigned for all home meets. If your child is signed up for the meet, It is expected that you will fulfill your job for the meet. Please keep in mind that meets cannot run without volunteers, and our expectation is that all parents/guardians will be available for meets. Multiple absences may result in your child’s participation in meets being negatively affected. A parent job list will be emailed out the day before the meet and a copy will be posted at the meet as well.
In order to meet all of our financial obligations, buy equipment, and still keep our costs affordable to all, fundraising is necessary. In fairness to everyone we expect that all swimmers participate in our fundraising efforts. The following policy will be in place for the 2012 summer season. Please take some time and read the policy carefully. New fundraising ideas are always welcome as well as any other input you may have.
- Each swimmer is responsible for raising a minimum of $50 through fundraising
- If you do not want to do the fundraising you can do a $50 buyout at the time of registration. If choosing this option, please provide a separate check with “fundraiser” on the check memo line. If registering online, please check the appropriate box to include this in your payment.
- All families not doing the buyout will need to give a post dated check (July 1, 2012) for $50. If you reach your fundraising commitment the check will be returned to you, uncashed.
- If you have not met the $50 requirement by July 1, 2012, the check will be cashed.
More information on fundraisers will be available once the season starts.
We try to fundraise as little as possible; however, we cannot function on what we collect in dues, therefore fundraisers are an important part of the swim team program.
By registering online you agree to comply with the SBGC Rowell’s Raiders Swim Club’s Time and Fundraising Commitment.
Your summer coaches will be Missy Rowell and Kayliegh Walsh.
Practices will begin on Monday, May 7th . Practices will be held Monday, Tuesday and Thursday nights, with 11 and under swimmer’s practice from 6-7 PM, and 12 and older practices from 7-8:30 PM. These will continue to be the practice times throughout the season. (We reserve the right to consolidate practice times as deemed appropriate by our coaching staff.)
Please be advised that meets may be scheduled for weekdays as well as weekends. Not all meets will be on weekends this season.
