The Arts
Fine Arts Director: Rose Halloran (Arts & Crafts, Culinary Arts)
The club's fine arts program operates everyday from 3:45 - 6:00 here members
explore all level of fine arts, from multi-cultural culinary arts to puppetry.
Members
work together in small and large groups and receive individual attention from
staff and special guest instructors. Members also participate in numerous Fine
Arts field trips to plays, concerts and museums.
The members work within the community as well, performing at numerous venues
and sharing their love of art with residents of the Silverthorne senior home.
As always, for specific projects and topics please see the Fine Arts schedules
on the
program bulletin board right across from the art room.

This competition, which encourages creativity through a variety of media,
is made up of local, regional and national exhibits. Young people are encouraged
to create artwork in any of the following categories: monochromatic drawing,
multicolored drawing, pastels, water color, oil or acrylic, print making, mixed
media, collage and sculpture. Artwork selected through a national competition
is displayed at BGCA's annual National Conference.
Multi-Cultural Culinary Arts & Dining Etiquette
Tuesday is cooking from 3:30-4:30pm for the younger children! These classes fill
up quickly, so be sure to get a signed permission from
Mrs.
Halloran to secure a spot in the kitchen. In culinary arts, members learn about
the nutritional and cultural value of various foods, measure ingredients, prepare
dishes, learn how to properly set a table and then (of course) they get to eat
their creations. This is what we'll be featuring:
The club currently offers guitar, bass, drums, vocal, piano, & other various
lessons by instructor Jaime Laird! Click here to view more information!
BGCS ANNUAL THEATER PRODUCTION
Each year the Performing Arts program puts on its theater production. The show
for this year has not been determined.
Watching professionals is another important
way for kids to augment their love and affinity for the performing arts.
That is why the members often take field
trips to see Broadway performances. The Theater Club generally meets Tuesdays
from 4 - 5:30pm.
For more information please contact Rose Halloran @ 898-7709.
